Formal Coaching Cycles & Informal Planning
My main purpose as an instructional support teacher is to support, assist, and partner with staff members to reach their goals for student learning.
In addition to working alongside you in whole-staff settings, I look forward to working with you in small group and individual settings.
In a formal coaching cycle, we will work together to look at student work, plan, and/or co-teach. You will choose the focus – aligned to district initiatives – based on what will benefit your students the most. Once or twice each week, we will meet together for a 30-45 minute planning session. We will analyze assessment data or student work, discuss lessons and teaching methods, and use this information to drive further instruction.
Additionally, teams of teachers can engage in simultaneous coaching cycles to better support the work of our PLC initiative. Just as we would in an individual coaching cycle, we will analyze assessment data or student work, discuss lessons and teaching methods, and use this information to drive further instruction. We can also spend some time designing your instructional roadmaps.
I am also available for informal planning support, suggesting resources, and helping you to implement district initiatives.
